Types of forces
1. Contact force
A contact force is a force that acts at the point of contact of
two objects, such as normal force, friction, and tension.
The normal force denoted by N is the perpendicular force to the surface of contact. An
object at rest on the floor is subject to a normal force that balance its weight.
2. Non-contact force
A non-contact force, or at a distance force
is a force applied to an object by another body that is
not in direct contact with it, such as gravitational force, electric
force, magnetic force, or strong and weak nuclear forces.
