Data roaming refers to continued data service our phone receives when we go outside of our mobile operator's cellular network.

That Data roaming is the data we use when we are outside our coverage area .

For example, we're able to make calls or access the Internet when we travel internationally due to agreements between our provider and other network operators.

You can limit your data usage when turning off data roaming . You'll then not be able to access the internet using the mobile network when abroad or in a zone not covered.

In more technical terms, roaming refers to the bility for a cellular customer to automatically make and receive voice calls, send and receive data, or access other services, including home data services, when travelling outside the geographical coverage area of the home network, by means of using a visited network.
