Turning an iPhone into a Wi-Fi router

How to turn an iPhone into a Wi-Fi hotspot

A Wi-Fi hotspot turns the iPhone into a Wi-Fi router,

a) You have an iphone connected under 3G/4G cellular data connection , and have not a Wi-Fi around.

b) You have already set with your phone carrier , the service Personal Hotspot, you can then turn your i phone in Wi-Fi hotspot, or in a Wi-Fi station

c) This new Wi-Wi environment , that broadcasts, can be shared with devices nearby. Often 3G or 4G data are then shared with a Mac , iPad or a laptop; to browse the internet.

d) To have the access to this Wi-Fi, just select Wi-Fi in the second device and set the password already set in the Hotsport source device.

Her are the steps to follow to set up an iPhone Wi-Fi hotspot:

1. Open the Settings app, then

2. Select cellular

3. Tap Personal Hotspot, and set Personal Hotspot to On. (Tap the slide so it turns green.) If Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth are off, iOS will ask if you want to turn them back on. We'd recommend doing so - without them, the hotspot will be limited to USB. This is more secure, however.

4. Tap 'Wi-Fi Password' and enter a suitable password. (This isn't related to your Apple ID or usual Wi-Fi connection.)

5. Now check the name of the hotspot listed under To Connect Using Wi-Fi (we get "YOUR's iPhone").

6. Click the Wi-Fi icon in your Mac's Menu bar, or open the Settings app and tap Wi-Fi on an iPad, and choose the Wi-Fi hotspot.

7. Enter the password from Step 4.
That should be it.

You should now be able to browse the internet on your MacBook or Wi-Fi-only iPad using the connection provided by your iPhone.

So the web connection becomes available to anyone who is close enough having the password.

If you haven't got the Wi-Fi icon in the Menu bar of your Mac, open System Preferences and click Network. Select Wi-Fi in the list on the left.
Choose the iPhone hotspot from the Network Name dropdown menu.
