SMS and MMS
The SMS messaging service is better known by the
acronym of SMS (for " Short Message Service") or
or "minimessage" ("texto" in French).
SMS allows to transmit short messages text. SMS is one
of the services of mobile telephony.
The Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), "service
multimedia messaging system", is a system of transmission
andreceiving multimedia messages for mobile telephony.
It extends the capabilities of SMS, which are
limited to 160 characters, and allows in particular
to transmit photos, audio recordings as well as video.
The arrival of MMS on the telephony market had place
in around 2001.
